So where was I.....walking in town, along the canal and down to the end of Loch Ness. We walked by The Lock Inn, where we'll have dinner, and then just down to the water.
The Bothy....an EXCELLENT whisky bar (which was too crowded to get into)
Waiting in the canal....

Enjoying a pint by the Loch
OH NO!! Empties!!
After a couple of pints.....
Before dinner, we walked back to town to visit some small shops
and pick up some supplies for the evening….we plan to sit out on the patio overlooking the locks. There we'll discuss plans for tomorrow (5 September) and have a wee cocktail or two.
This was to be my supply for the evening....
….AND while shopping for supplies, I decided to try on some
hats. I’m not quite sure why, but I think it was Jeff that talked me into it.
The Nessie Hat
The Highland Coo Hat
The Jimmy Hat (a different version)...and finally....
The Jenny Hat
Dinner at The Lock Inn
Why does Jeff look like this? Check out the guy at the bar to the left....yikes!
Dinner at The Lock Inn
After dinner, we went back to our B&B and grabbed our maps and "supplies" and headed to the patio, only to find out that it was the owner's patio and not a common space. While sitting out front, Crazy Carol came back, walking one of her dogs and she opened the patio up for us! She even got us some candles and "midgie sticks" (basically incense which Jeff and I inhaled all night). We asked Carol to join us, which she did and we had a cracking good night talking with her....and we pretty much figured out why she's called "Crazy Carol". She was a hoot! It was about 11:00PM when she had to leave to "iron some pillow cases" and we were left on our own. Rain soon came and we moved up front again to finalize plans for the next day.
Time for a well needed rest tonight
Tomorrow we head for Edinburgh via Glencoe where we'll stop at King's House Hotel. Cheers!
